From the East traveling West on I-10 going towards NOLA:
Go straight on I-10 all the way through downtown New Orleans. Exit I-10 @ Claiborne Avenue, Hwy. 90; DO NOT GO TOWARDS BATON ROUGE. Keep going straight West onto Claiborne Ave. towards Uptown. After passing Napoleon Avenue, on your Left side you will pass Tulane's Baseball Diamond as on the Right there will be a Giant Mug of Frosty Root-beer; the Next Light is Broadway. Take a Left onto Broadway and now you are going South towards the Mississippi River. 13 blocks down, just past Newcomb College, on your Left side, look for a Funky Cosmic Gorilla Riding a Groovy Space Train. The Tracks will lead you to a door @ 1037 Broadway, just past Zimple, The Boot and the Crepe Cart, go Upstairs and the MushrooM is on the 2nd floor. From the West traveling East on I-10 going towards NOLA:
Pass by the Airport on the Right, go straight through Metairie, stay on I-10 going towards New Orleans. Exit Carrollton Avenue by Xavier University. Take a Right going South towards the Audubon Zoo {where they all ask for you; hey pok-a-way!!!}... Now on Carrollton Ave, keep going South towards the Mississippi River until the start of the Streetcar line at Claiborne Ave. Take a Left onto Claiborne, yet actually you have to take a U-turn over the streetcar tracks and take a Right onto Claiborne b/c of a No Left Turn onto Claiborne from Carrollton. Once on Claiborne Ave, the next light is Broadway, take a Right. After going South on Broadway towards the River for 13 blocks, just past Newcomb College, on your left side, look for a Funky Cosmic Gorilla Riding a Groovy Space Train. The Tracks will lead you to a door @ 1037 Broadway, just past Zimple, The Boot and the Crepe Cart, go Upstairs and the MushrooM is on the 2nd floor. From the French Quarter:
Exiting the French Quarter around Bourbon and Canal, go Uptown via the Streetcar or on St. Charles Ave. Once on St. Charles, you will go 1/2 way around Lee Circle and go under the Hwy. 90 Bridge; continue going up the Avenue for awhile. After passing Napoleon Avenue, Audubon Park on the Left and Loyola and Tulane Universities on the right, the next light is Broadway. Take a right onto Broadway and go 5 blocks more; the MushrooM is just past Ferret Street on the Right side. Look for a Funky Cosmic Gorilla riding a Groovy Space Train. The tracks will lead you to a door @ 1037, go Upstairs and Behold: the Greatest Record Store Ever!!! MushrooM ... It's Worth the Trip!!!
From the Westbank, crossing the Mississippi via the Cresent City Connection:
Take the Hwy. 90 overpass through the tolls on over the Mississippi River Bridge. The very 1st exit on the Right is Tchoupitolas, take it going Upriver past River City, Jackson Ave., Louisiana Ave ... then, when you get to Napoleon @ Tipitina's take a right. Proceed North on Napoleon past St. Charles Ave.{Mardi Gras Route} on up to Ferret Street; take a Left. Cruise West on Ferret past Jefferson, past Loyola & Tulane's Fogleman Arena & Library; the next light is Broadway, take a Right. The MushrooM is almost 1 block up on the Right Side; 1037 Broadway, on the 2nd floor. Look for a Funky Cosmic Gorilla riding a Groovy Space Train to point you in the direction of the door: MushrooM, It's Worth the Trip!!!
From the Westbank, crossing the Mississippi River via the Huey Long Bridge:
Take Hwy. 90 past Bridge City, up and over the Huey Long Bridge {account for construction}, when you are getting to the Eastbank side, get into the Right Lane and merge onto Jefferson Hwy. 90 East - take a Right when you get to the end of the Huey Long Bridge. Now on Jefferson Hwy. 90 East, continue towards New Orleans, past Oschner Hospital, past the Sewage & Water Board on the Jefferson / Orleans Parish Line, past Carrollton Ave [where the streetcar begins] ... the next light is Broadway; take a right. The MushrooM is 13 blocks down on the Left Side; 1037 Broadway: just past Willow, Newcomb College, Zimple, The Boot and the Crepe Cart ... look for a Funky Cosmic Gorilla riding a Groovy Space Train to point you in the direction of the door; go upstairs and behold: MushrooM, the Greatest Record Store Ever; It's Worth the Trip!!!
